Are you tired of the cookie-cutter stamp designs at your local arts and crafts store? Have the vision of what your perfect stamp designs would look like but don’t know where to start? Let's spend a few hours learning how to make your own rubber stamps!
This workshop will begin with the basics of stamp carving and introduce you to the tools and gouges used to create rubber stamps. In class you will have a chance to use custom templates created by our instructor to get you started on your stamp carving adventure. You'll also learn how layer stamps to make your own custom cards, tags, and other paper goods. You'll leave this workshop with all the tools needed to carve every image you love into a stamp.
Instruction will be by Camie Dyess, the owner, illustrator and stamp carver at Fresh Baked Paper Goods. Camie was a middle school art teacher before taking on motherhood and Fresh Baked Paper Goods full time. She has an affinity to bright, bold colors and vegan baked goods. Camie currently resides in San Diego with her husband and two kids.
We are thrilled to be partnering with The Library Shop to host this workshop. The Library Shop is a carefully curated one-stop shop for books, jewelry, children’s merchandise, gifts and art located inside the new San Diego Central Library.
