Botanical Illustration & Watercolor

In this Botanical illustration & Watercolor workshop you'll learn everything you need to know to create beautiful, unique artwork of all your favorite botanicals & blooms!

You'll learn step-by-step how to illustrate flowers like peonies and anemones, natural looking greenery & desert plants. We'll go over the things to keep in mind to make sure your illustrations have the unrefined look that is found in nature.

In the watercolor portion of the class we'll go over the basics of color theory, how to mix colors to produce natural earth tones and the importance of choosing shades that are complimentary. We'll go over the techniques used for applying pigment to the page to achieve different watercolor textures and washes that will be used as a base for your illustrated creations.

We're so glad to have Loren of Four Things Paper instructing our workshop! She's been working in printing and design since 2010. She offers a wide variety of wedding goods and design services and has been featured in many of the top style guides such as Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes & Exquisite Weddings. We're excited to learn from Loren!

The venue is Communal Coffee's new event space in North Park! It's next door to their coffee shop that's opening this Spring.
