The strawberries are ripening and we are ready to make them into jam! Hope you can join us as we learn the very useful art of preserving. Using the freshest local fruits and unique ingredients like balsamic vinegar and wine, you will learn how to make two delicious jams using the hot pack canning method.
Is the thought of biting into a freshly pickled asparagus spear right up your alley? Come learn how to pickle with us! We'll be working together to prepare delicious vegetables in ingredients like shallots, garlic, tarragon and rosemary. You'll get an education while working alongside new friends and sampling delicious food. You'll learn how to properly and safely can using the boiling water bath method.
Our instructor will be Betsy Haley, a San Diego based food stylist with a BFA from the University of Illinois. She's been working in television and film production since 2005, and has been writing the popular food and lifestyle blog, www.betsylife.com, since 2010.
