The strawberries are ripening and we are ready to make them into jam! Hope you can join us as we learn the very useful art of preserving. Using the freshest local fruits and unique ingredients like balsamic vinegar and wine, you will learn how to make two delicious jams - one with strawberry and one with stone fruit - using the hot pack canning method.
Talented chef and owner of Cucina Coronado, Caroline Chambers will be leading this fun preserving workshop. Cucina Coronado is a boutique catering company based in San Diego, California. They are a small, homegrown operation that uses only the best, freshest ingredients available and upholds sustainable practices throughout their work. They only cook with produce from family-owned farms within 200 miles of their kitchen. They seek to bring the ever-popular "farm-to-table" experience out of the restaurant and straight to your table, wherever that table may be. Their work has been featured on Style me Pretty, On To Baby, among others and they have worked with some of Southern California's top event planners.
We are also super excited to be partnering with Zilaro Cellars to host this workshop. Zilaro Cellars is a modern winery producing classic varietals for the discriminating wine drinker. Their grapes come from single vineyard sources delivering character and unique expression to the finished product. They favor American oak barrels and the rich tannins they bring to our wines. Zilaro Cellars is proud to be the first and only wine tasting room on Coronado Island, San Diego. Wine tasting aficionados have the opportunity to try their bold and balanced wines while enjoying the beautiful local scenery.
